Matthew's background in art and puppetry bring frenetic, expressive, and saturated visuals to his collaborations, and  work has been deemed "bonkers" by Rolling Stone. 

He was on the founding team of Theatre Now New York, producer of the annual Sound Bites Festival of new musicals. He was the associate director of John Cameron Mitchell's podcast musical series Anthem: Homunculus and spent the pandemic creating DIY music videos for various artists and moved to Los Angeles. 

In addition to directing, Matthew is a props artisan with a background in marionette puppetry, and has fabricated for numerous productions and theatres including Pasadena Playhouse, Boston Court, and Theatre for a New Audience, where he served as Head Properties for four years.
